A New Routine
From that day on, the Smiths had to adjust their routine to accommodate their new guest. They had to keep the back door locked at all times and make sure their pets were safe. They also had to be more careful with their garbage and food, as the raccoon seemed to have a keen sense of smell. The family found themselves watching the raccoon’s every move, trying to figure out what it wanted and why it had chosen their house.
The Family Divided
As days turned into weeks, the raccoon became a constant presence in the Smiths’ lives. The family was divided in their opinion about the intruder. The kids, Emma and Jake, loved having a wild animal around and even named it Rascal. They would often leave bits of food for it to eat and try to pet it through the window. The parents, however, were more concerned about the safety of their family and pets. They wanted to get rid of the raccoon before it caused any harm.
