Airbag

Everything was going smoothly until the car started to skid on some ice on the road. Gráinne and her boyfriend hit a wall. Because of the impact, the airbag inflated exactly where her feet were. Gráinne’s knee hit her face with an immense force. The airbag inflated so quickly and combined with the force of the collision, she ended up hitting her own face with her knee at a speed of 200 miles per hour.
Recovery

Due to the impact from her knee, almost all the bones in Gráinne’s face were broken. Not only that, cerebrospinal fluid was leaking from her skull, and she lost two teeth. Surgeons did their best to reconstruct her entire face, but a year after the accident she suffered a setback. Her entire forehead had to be removed. Gráinne lived for two years without a forehead until she received a ceramic one. On top of that, she had to go through a long period of rehabilitation training, and she still struggles with memory and concentration. She often suffers from headaches and can’t handle busy situations. She also doesn’t remember anything about the accident, nor the period surrounding it.
